On May 2, 2025, the second scheduled meeting of the Committee on Criminal Law and Procedure was held at the Odesa Regional Bar Association. The event was opened by the Committee Chair, Denis Ponomarenko, a partner at Barristers Law Firm, who outlined the agenda and key topics for discussion.

The meeting was attended by attorneys both in person in the conference room and colleagues who joined remotely.

During the productive session, a number of important issues were addressed:

• Kateryna Varnaliy, an attorney at Barristers Law Firm, was unanimously elected as the Committee’s new secretary.
• Changes to the Committee’s membership were approved.
• Joint initiatives with the Odesa Court of Appeals and the relevant department of the Ministry of Justice were analyzed
• The need to publish information about Committee members on the RAOO website was agreed upon

The key decision of the meeting was to hold the annual All-Ukrainian Forum on Criminal Law and Procedure named after Y. L. Bronz, which will take place in Odesa at the end of August 2025.
Barristers continues to actively participate in the development of the professional community and the implementation of meaningful changes in the field of criminal justice.
