Kateryna Pimenova’s (Odesa) project “Paradoxes of Freedom” reflects the author’s reflections on the historical and cultural phenomenon of this concept.
Realized as a series consisting of 24 conceptual photographs, the project presents views of the Angevin-Aragonese Castle, located in Gaeta, Italy, which has a remarkable centuries-old history.
The contemporary views of this structure are both beautiful and shocking.
A place of imprisonment that has turned into picturesque ruins—a paradox that inspires both admiration and horror, prompting reflection and reevaluation...

The photo project will take place on December 19, 2018, at the Odessa Regional Bar Association, located at 14
Zhukovskogo Street. This event is not a typical exhibition, but an auction. The proceeds will go toward helping orphaned children.
