Barristers, JSC, together with its partners, has launched the LHS School of Legal Business Development.
Today marks a milestone in the history of Legal High School (LHS)—the new School of Legal Business Development has opened its doors to students.
The opening ceremony for the new School was attended by Rustam Kolesnik, founder of LHS and CEO of the “Yuridicheskaya Praktika” publishing house; Armen Khachaturyan, senior partner at Asters; Professor Natalia Kuznetsova, full member (academician) of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, vice president of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, and head of the Kyiv Regional Center; Svitlana Romanova, director of legal affairs at the Metinvest Group; Igor Kravtsov, Managing Partner at EVRIS Law Firm; Marina Fomenko, CEO of Eterna Law Kyiv; Oleg Malinevskiy, Partner at EQUITY Law Firm; Alexey Kot, Managing Partner at Antika Law Firm; Oleksiy Shevchuk, Partner at Barristers Law Firm; Evgeniya Ruzhentseva, CEO of LHS.
While Legal High School initially focused on traditional areas of law (litigation, criminal, and tax practice, etc.), it has now reached a new level of quality, offering its participants the opportunity to learn the secrets of successfully establishing and growing a law firm, the intricacies of management and marketing from the “gurus” of the legal services market—partners at leading law firms,” the speakers emphasized. “Today, it is very important to know not only the laws but also the rules of the market, and not just to know them, but also to be able to apply them in practice, including the ‘QSC’ rule—quality, speed, and cost,” noted the ceremony participants as they wished the new School “all the best!”
Following the ceremonial launch of the new educational platform at Legal High School, an open interview took place with Rustam Kolesnik, editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Yuridicheskaya Praktika”; the interview was conducted by renowned attorney Oleksiy Shevchuk, and questions were also posed from the audience. During the candid conversation, Rustam Kolesnik discussed the nuances of organizing technical processes and the “behind-the-scenes” workings at the “Yuridicheskaya Praktika” publishing house and Legal High School, the prospects for implementing “YP’s” bold new projects, shared his own vision for the work of specialized legal media amid political turbulence, and focused on current trends in the legal services market. “Today’s legal market is a truly living organism that changes under the influence of numerous factors—both external (such as shifts in the country’s political climate) and internal,” he emphasized. Rustam Kolesnik also discussed which legal practice areas will be “at the top” this year: these include, in particular, litigation, tax, and criminal law, as well as energy-related issues.
Classes at the new School begin today: as part of the first module, “Law Firm: Basic Principles,” students will learn how to manage a law firm in an era of constant change and what will be mainstream tomorrow.
