The Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine has issued certificates confirming the direct participation of the fallen volunteers Maksym Mykhailov, Yuriy Horovets, Taras Karpyuk, and Bohdan Lyagov in combat operations to defend Ukraine against Russian aggression.

This decision serves as yet another confirmation of their heroism and self-sacrifice in the fight for Ukraine’s independence. State recognition of their contribution brings the heroes’ families one step closer to receiving the guarantees and social protection provided for by law.

As previously reported, Barristers are providing legal assistance to the family members of the soldiers from the “Brotherhood” unit—part of the “Timur Special Forces Unit” of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine—who were killed in action on December 25, 2022, to help them receive all payments and social guarantees provided for by law.

These soldiers demonstrated exceptional courage and determination while carrying out combat missions. On December 25, 2022, the sabotage group led by Maksym “Nepiypiva” Mykhailov, Yuriy “Svyatosha” Horovets, Taras “Tarasia” Karpyuk, and Bohdan “Apollo” Lyagov carried out a special operation behind enemy lines. Once engaged in combat, they fought for Ukraine to the very end, choosing the path of honor and self-sacrifice.
