You can find answers to these and other questions regarding procedural aspects during Session 3, “Human Rights vs. Evidence Gathering in Criminal Proceedings—An Analysis of the Balance in International and National Practice.”

The discussion will be moderated by Iryna Hlovyuk, Ph.D. in Law, Associate Professor, Attorney-at-Law, Scientific Advisor at BARRISTERS Law Firm, and member of the Scientific Advisory Council at the Supreme Court.

During the session, we will address many pressing issues: - Practical recommendations on the application of the UN Convention’s human rights protection mechanisms in criminal proceedings. - Reasoned decisions and the assessment of evidence when authorizing a search: the relationship between national practice and the legal positions of the European Court of Human Rights. - Special criminal proceedings: challenges in their application in Ukraine and international practice. - Notification of suspicion and seizure of property: evaluation of evidence and the reasoning behind the investigating judge’s decision, among other topics.
