June 18, 2019 The Criminal Court of Cassation partially granted the cassation appeal filed by Denis Ponomarenko, a partner and attorney at Barristers Law Firm, against the ruling of the Odessa Court of Appeals in the case against O. M. Korniyenko.
As early as January 28, 2019, a ruling by a judge of the Odesa Court of Appeals denied the request to open appellate proceedings based on the appeal filed by D. V. Ponomarenko, a partner and attorney at Barristers Law Firm, D. V. Ponomarenko, a partner and attorney at Barristers Law Firm, against the ruling of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi City and District Court of Odesa Region regarding the return of the indictment and the imposition of pretrial detention as a preventive measure against O. M. Korniyenko
Regarding the aforementioned ruling, a cassation appeal was filed by a partner, an attorney at Barristers Law Firm, on the grounds of its illegality; as a result of the review, a panel of judges of the Cassation Criminal Court overturned the ruling of the Odesa Court of Appeals and remanded the case for a new hearing in the appellate court.
