"Each of us can do more," said attorney Oleksiy Shevchuk as he presented his book at PLS-2018

On December 13, 2018, the 6th International Forum on the Promotion of Legal Services (PLS-2018) continued its proceedings. Oleksiy Shevchuk, a partner at BARRISTERS Law Firm and attorney-at-law, presented his book *Dokaz: Frankly About Ukraine’s Government Agencies*. It features 33 candid conversations with Ukrainian politicians. Why is the presentation taking place specifically at PLS-2018? In response to this question, Mr. Shevchuk noted that the legal market is home to a vast number of talented people capable of changing the country, and they are ready to make a significant contribution to the development of our state.

During the presentation, Oleksiy Shevchuk conducted several quick interviews with Natalia Vlaschenko, executive producer of the ZIK TV channel; Serhiy Taruta, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament; Roman Nasirov, former head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (who recently secured his reinstatement through the courts), and Members of the Ukrainian Parliament Olga Boh and Anton Gerashchenko. The guests shared their impressions of the book and the program *Dokaz*, which Oleksiy Shevchuk hosts on ZIK TV. For example, he and Serhiy Taruta discussed the ineffective management of the state and how to find a way out of the current chaos. According to the MP, lawyers are arbitrators who facilitate agreements, formalize them into legal documents, and subsequently defend those agreements. In his view, the book is timely and important, and it should be read not only by those interviewed and the author’s close friends, but also by the general public.

“Each of us can do more,” Oleksiy Shevchuk emphasized to his colleagues as he wrapped up the presentation. He also mentioned other books written by lawyers this year and noted that anyone can donate their time to work on a cool project.
