Partner at Barristers, LLC, NAAU speaker and Chair of the NAAU Committee on Information Policy and Media Relations, Oleksiy Shevchuk, participated in a roundtable discussion on the topic: “The Formation of a Selection Committee for Members of the High Council of Justice as a Hallmark of a Democratic State”

The event’s agenda focused on:

1. Compliance with the requirements of Article 95-1 of the Law “On the Judicial System and the Status of Judges”;

2. The legality of suspending the procedure for forming the selection committee;

3. Reasons for a possible blockage of the selection process for the High Council of Justice;

4. Ways to resolve these issues in the context of judicial reform and Ukraine’s European integration.
