The workweek for the All-Ukrainian Public Organization “Ukrainian Bar Association” began with a meeting with an international expert from the Council of Europe, a member of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) and former Secretary General of that Council, Mr. Jonathan Goldsmith, as well as the head of the “Support for the Implementation of Judicial Reform in Ukraine” project, Illia Chernogorenko.
Representing the Ukrainian Bar Association at the meeting was Oleksiy Shevchuk, a member of the UBA Board and partner at the “Barristers” Law Firm.
The main topics of the meeting were the development of the legal profession in Ukraine, the protection of lawyers’ rights, and international cooperation in these areas.
