On November 15, the jury for the LIGA ZAKON AWARDS, a nationwide legal market ranking launched by LIGA:ZAKON, was announced; Oleksiy Shevchuk, a partner and attorney at Barristers Law Firm, was selected to serve on the jury.

For the first time in the history of professional rankings in Ukraine, jury members were selected based on submitted applications. The Ranking’s Organizing Committee selected 34 individuals whose applications complied with the Ranking’s Methodology. The expert jury was formed in two ways: through self-nomination by submitting an application on the Rating’s website and by invitation from the Organizer.

The jury included individuals who are familiar with current trends in the development of Ukraine’s legal services market and are capable of compiling their own personal rankings based on objective factors, depending on the category and its criteria. Overall, this year’s jury includes experts representing the legal departments of Ukraine’s largest companies, managing partners of top law firms, representatives of legal infrastructure startups, attorneys, and members of the academic community.

Valerii Reshetnyak, Director of LegalTech Business at LIGA:ZAKON: “We have completed the application collection phase. We now have over 270 nominees. Over the past two weeks, we’ve received more than 30 incoming calls a day with questions from participants. LegalTech solution developers have been the most active. The next stage is the voting itself. Our jury includes not only well-known managing partners but also young and ambitious lawyers who have not previously applied to participate in professional rankings as evaluators but fully meet the stated requirements. Overall, a very interesting jury has been formed, with two-thirds consisting of representatives from law firms and clients, in-house counsel, LegalTech companies, the academic and educational communities, as well as the public sector. “We have managed to include all segments of Ukraine’s legal industry on the jury.”

Voting for the nominees will take place from November 15 to December 6, 2019.

Representatives of the Organizing Committee will process the voting results by December 11.

Representatives of the auditor will verify and review the results.

On December 13, at a formal ceremony, representatives of LIGA:ZAKON will announce the winners of the LIGA ZAKON AWARDS 2019.
