In Kharkiv, two men suspected of making false bomb threats against buildings have been taken into custody.

In this criminal case, the suspects are being represented by partners and attorneys at Barristers JSC—Konstantin Globa, Alexander Shadrin, and Bogdan Zabara, an attorney at Barristers JSC.

The two IT specialists were arrested on suspicion of “telephone terrorism” (more specifically, for sending bomb threat messages via email as part of a premeditated conspiracy by a group of individuals).

They were engaged in social media promotion, renting and returning numerous SIM cards. An email account was later registered on one of these SIM cards, from which the bomb threat messages were sent. The case is being investigated by the Main Directorate of the National Police. The case was classified under Article 258 (rather than Article 259) because “the damage is significant and the act is systematic in nature.”

According to his information, the men were remanded in custody with the right to post bail in the amount of 1.5 million hryvnias.

On October 17, 2019, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv partially granted the motion filed by the defense attorney—partner at Barristers JSC Konstantin Globa, to change the pretrial measure and reduced the bail amount to 576,300 hryvnias.
