A lawyer's calling is to stand out.
A lawyer’s calling is to speak in a way that ensures they are heard.
When you’re afraid, you speak. When you feel the case and live it—you speak! You must remember that fear is part of the equation.
A speech should evoke emotions. It should be vivid; people should be quoting it.
Being a lawyer is a 24-hour-a-day commitment. This doesn’t mean you have to be available 24 hours a day as a lawyer. But your lifestyle is that of a lawyer 24 hours a day. The way you communicate throughout the day should reflect that of a lawyer. This isn’t about complex sentences or legal jargon… You simply have to be sharp. You have to live and breathe this profession.
A lawyer must do everything possible to achieve results. No one is born a public speaker; the art of public speaking, like any art, must be learned with patience. The only thing I want to warn you about is that you must never cross the line of morality.
