On May 15, 2026, at the Odessa Court of Appeals, the Odessa Regional Bar Association, at the initiative of the RAOO Committee on Criminal Law and Procedure and with informational support from the RAOO Committee on Continuing Legal Education, held an in-person continuing legal education event for attorneys in a “Blitz: Q&A” format.

The topic of the event was: “Ensuring Criminal Proceedings, Judicial Oversight in Criminal Proceedings, and Appellate Review of Investigative Judges’ Rulings.”

The event was officially opened by Igor Artemenko, Chair of the Odessa Court of Appeals, as well as Olena Dzhaburiya, Acting Chair of the Odesa Regional Bar Association, and Denys Ponomarenko, Chair of the Committee on Criminal Law and Procedure of the Odesa Regional Bar Association and partner at Barristers Law Firm.

The speakers at the event were:
▪️ Ruslan KOTELEVSKYI—Deputy Chair of the Odesa Court of Appeals;
▪️ Oleg Kopitsa — Spokesperson Judge of the Odesa Court of Appeals.

The event was conducted at a high professional level, in the format of a lively and substantive discussion on current issues in criminal procedure that attorneys regularly encounter in the course of their professional activities, particularly during the pretrial investigation phase, during judicial oversight, and during the appellate review of rulings by investigating judges.

Sincere thanks to the judges of the Odesa Court of Appeals and to all participants for the professional dialogue, the exchange of practical experience, and their active participation in the event.

Such events are extremely important for the professional development of the legal community, the improvement of practical skills, and the formation of uniform approaches to the application of the law.
