As a result of the provision of legal assistance, the High Anti-Corruption Court modified the pretrial measure imposed on Andriy Yurchenko, the former head of the Rubizhne Municipal Administration in Luhansk Oblast, by reducing the bail amount from 6 million to 2 million hryvnias; the bail was posted, and he was released from custody today.
The pretrial investigation concerns the possible receipt of unlawful benefits during the procurement of UAVs and electronic warfare equipment, in which, according to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), the former head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration, a current member of parliament, the commander of a military unit, and the owner of a drone manufacturing company.
The defense insists that Mr. Yurchenko’s actions do not constitute the alleged criminal offense and that he was not involved in committing the crime in question.
The defense is led by Aleksandr Tananakin, managing partner of Barristers Law Firm, and attorney Yevhen Bovkun.
