The Supreme Court granted the appeals filed by the attorneys from Barristers LLP and overturned the conviction

By a ruling of the Supreme Court dated October 28, 2021, the cassation appeals filed by attorneys Oleksandr Tananakin and Mykhailo Yakovchuk were granted, and the guilty verdict of the Vinnytsia Court of Appeals was overturned, which had sentenced the defendant to 9 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all property.

It should be noted that earlier, a panel of the Baranivka District Court of Zhytomyr Oblast had issued an acquittal in this case, which can be viewed at the following link: https://reyestr.court.gov.ua/Review/89547233

As a result of the cassation review, the defendant was released from custody, and the case was remanded for a new appellate hearing.
