Chaired by Yuriy Radzievsky, Chair of the NAAU Committee on Information Policy and Media Relations and a partner at Barristers LLP, a committee meeting was held, during which the results of 2025 were summarized and key priorities for 2026 were outlined.

The year 2025 was an important and productive one for the legal community. One of the key achievements was the adoption of the law on liability for equating a lawyer with a client—a landmark decision for the protection of the profession, which had been systematically worked on even during Oleksiy Shevchuk’s chairmanship of the Committee.

In 2026, the Committee will focus on:

• developing consistent and professional communication with the journalistic community;

• countering media bullying of lawyers and manipulation in the public sphere;

• improving lawyers’ media literacy;

• protecting the independence of the legal profession as an institution.

The Committee continues its systematic work to protect the profession and develop high-quality and responsible communications.
