FIFTH ANNIVERSARY ANNUAL OPEN RAPID CHESS TOURNAMENT “LAWYERS’ TOUR – 2019”

ON THE OCCASION OF LAWYERS’ DAY

On December 14, 2019, the Fifth Anniversary Annual Open Chess Tournament “Lawyers’ Tour 2019,” dedicated to Ukrainian Lawyers’ Day, will take place. The tournament is held under the patronage of the Odesa Regional Bar Council (Y. L. Bronz, O. O. Kozlov), the “Barristers” Law Firm, the Odesa Branch of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization “Association of Lawyers of Ukraine,” and with the support of the Association of Chess and Checkers Clubs of the Odesa Region.

The tournament’s organizing committee consists of the following attorneys: Vsevolod Petrovich Sokalyuk (chair), Denis Vasilyevich Ponomarenko (vice chair, partner at “Barristers” Law Firm, chair of the Odessa branch of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization “Association of Ukrainian Lawyers”), Committee members: Svitlana Aksentiivna Adabash (Committee on Culture, Tourism, and Sports).

Tournament venue: Assembly Hall of the Odessa Regional Bar Association: 14 Zhukovskogo St., Odessa.

Registration begins at 10:00 a.m.

The tournament begins at 11:00 a.m.

Ends at 6:00 p.m.

Please note: The tournament is open to attorneys and legal assistants not only from Odesa but also from other regions of Ukraine.

Estimated number of participants: up to 20 people.

Games will be played using the Swiss system. Each participant will have 15 minutes per game.

The tournament will be officiated by an international-category chess arbiter or a grandmaster. Renowned Odessa chess masters are expected to attend the tournament.

As is tradition, valuable prizes from the Odesa Regional Bar Association and the tournament’s sponsors—well-known law firms—will be awarded to the winners, and commemorative souvenirs will be given to all tournament participants. Coffee breaks and opportunities for participants, fans, and tournament guests to mingle are planned during the breaks between games.

Media representatives, journalists, and chess enthusiasts are invited to attend.

The registration fee for the tournament is 500 UAH.
