THANKS TO THE EFFORTS OF THE ATTORNEY, DENIS PONOMARENKO, A PARTNER AT BARRISTERS, AND SERHIY IVANIV, A PRIVATELY PRACTICING ATTORNEY, ON AUGUST 31,2021, THE KROPYVNYTSKYI APPEALS COURT UPHELD THE ACQUITTAL OF IGOR SLABENKO UNDER PART 2 OF ART. 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine!

Thanks to the efforts of attorney and partner at Barristers, LLC Denis Ponomarenko and attorney-at-law Serhiy Ivaniv, who practices independently, on August 31, 2021, the Kropyvnytskyi Court of Appeals upheld the acquittal of Igor Slabenko under Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine!

Indeed, as early as February 25, 2021, a ruling by the Sosnivsky District Court of Cherkasy Oblast—thanks to the coordinated efforts of the attorneys—found Igor Slabenko not guilty of committing the criminal offense as provided for in Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, due to a lack of evidence that the accused had committed the criminal offense, and he was acquitted of the suspicion of committing the criminal offense provided for in Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The defense team’s proactive approach contributed to this unequivocal outcome at a particularly critical moment—when Igor Slabenko, who was still a minor at the time, was being unlawfully held in custody.

And on August 31, 2021, the Kropyvnytskyi Court of Appeals upheld the aforementioned acquittal of Igor Slabenko under Part 2 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine!
