The National Association of Lobbyists of Ukraine, in collaboration with Taras Zavgorodniy, an expert in strategic communications and negotiations, will host a professional hands-on training session titled “Winning Negotiations for Lobbyists: How to Influence Decisions Without Conflict or Loss.” The event will take place on February 19, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. online.

The training is designed to enhance the professional effectiveness of specialists who interact with government agencies, members of parliament, regulators, heads of public and private institutions, and other key stakeholders. Participants will gain practical tools for influencing the decision-making process, building coalitions of support, and overcoming systemic barriers that arise during the implementation of professional and civic initiatives.

The training program covers key aspects of professional negotiations in the field of public policy and lobbying, including:

  • understanding the actual psychology of decision-making in government and corporate structures;
  • building a strong negotiating position from the very first meeting;
  • effectively handling refusals, delays, and attempts to avoid responsibility;
  • mapping out spheres of influence and building coalitions of support;
  • recognizing and neutralizing manipulation in negotiations;
  • using nonverbal tools of influence;
  • applying language techniques that translate negotiations into concrete decisions and commitments.

The event format includes intensive hands-on work, such as role-playing negotiations, analysis of participants’ real-life case studies, simulation of negotiation scenarios, and the development of personalized influence strategies.

Upon completion, participants will receive a set of ready-to-use negotiation tools, practical communication templates, and an individual action plan for effectively advancing their initiatives in government and corporate settings.

The organizers emphasize that in complex management systems, success depends not only on the quality of an idea but also on the professional ability to negotiate effectively, generate interest, and drive decisions forward.
