Attorneys Irina Kuzina, Elvira Lazarenko, and Andriy Levkovets of Barristers LLC successfully defended a British citizen who was facing the possibility of extradition detention. Specifically, by a ruling of the Kyiv Court of Appeals dated November 20, 2018, the prosecutor’s appeal was dismissed, and the ruling of the investigating judge of the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv dated October 11, 2018, which denied the request for extradition detention, was upheld.

As a reminder, earlier, by a ruling of the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv dated October 11, 2018, at the request of the defense attorneys pursuant to Article 206 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the aforementioned British citizen was released fromcustody in the courtroom because he had not been brought before an investigating judge within 60 hours of his detention to consider the motion to impose extradition detention.
