Barristers have contributed to improving the legal framework governing the legal profession and safeguarding professional guarantees

The National Bar Association of Ukraine has stepped up its cooperation with the relevant committees of the Verkhovna Rada to improve the legislation governing the practice of law.

As representatives of the UNAA and active participants in the bar’s self-governance, attorneys Oleksiy Shevchuk and Yuriy Radzievsky, partners at Barristers, are directly involved in shaping the regulatory framework that will ensure the effective functioning of the legal profession and the protection of attorneys’ rights.

One of the key initiatives is to clarify the liability for interference in a lawyer’s professional activities. The independence of the legal profession is the foundation of the rule of law, and every attempt at pressure or unlawful influence must be subject to proper legal assessment.

Collaboration between the legal community and lawmakers will not only improve existing legal mechanisms but also strengthen the safeguards for lawyers’ professional practice in Ukraine.
