Azovstal

We would like to express our deep gratitude and respect to the Association of Families of the Azovstal Defenders for the opportunity to speak at the event commemorating the tragic anniversary of the terrorist attack in Olenivka.
Serhiy Lankin, a lawyer with Barristers, speaking on behalf of the families of the defenders, made the following remarks during his speech:
“Although the Russians believe they are above the law—their war crimes are not subject to statutes of limitations and are prosecuted throughout the civilized world.
You will be found and brought to justice here or abroad. You cannot escape accountability. Thank you to everyone who came today to honor our heroes. Your inner strength and resilience inspire us to continue the fight.” 

As a reminder, Barristers, in collaboration with the Association of Families of Azovstal Defenders, provides legal assistance to the families of servicemembers and the defenders who protected our country on the grounds of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.

Over the past year, attorney Marisa Skuba and lawyer Serhiy Lankin have worked on the following:

- Representing the interests of families in criminal proceedings related to the terrorist attack in the town of Olenivka;
- Providing legal assistance on social issues related to benefits and payments following the death of a defender;
- Supporting the families of servicemembers held captive by the enemy;
- Assisting in obtaining information, preparing explanatory materials, organizing public meetings, and providing personal consultations on issues affecting servicemembers and their families.

We continue to work to help our country achieve victory over the enemy.
