The Barristers team won the “Best Legal Case” award for 2023!
Congratulations to attorneys Marisa Skuba and Andriy Yosypov, and associate Serhiy Lankin on their victory at the 2023 All-Ukrainian GR Awards.
This award recognizes our team’s work representing the interests of the Association of Families of Azovstal Defenders.
Throughout the year, our team of experienced lawyers conducted numerous in-person and public meetings, consultations, and explanations of the relevant legislation and procedures regarding:
- the proper preparation and acquisition of various types of necessary documents;
- military service performed by servicemembers;
- receiving financial assistance;
- establishing the fact of death in the absence of a body;
- submitting a series of attorney requests to obtain necessary information;
- representing clients before government authorities, etc., particularly regarding the investigation into the terrorist attack at the occupied Volnovakha Correctional Colony in the town of Olenivka, Donetsk Oblast.
While receiving the award, Marisa and Serhiy urged everyone present not to forget that approximately 1,500 defenders of Azovstal, including 700 servicemen from the “Azov” Special Forces Brigade, have been held captive by Russia for over a year, and they urged everyone to fight for them here just as they fought for us there!
