PARTNERS OF BARRISTERS, JSC DENYS PONOMARENKO AND YURI ZHOVTAN PARTICIPATED IN A ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION HOSTED BY THE DIALOGUE PLATFORM ON PUBLIC RELATIONSAT THE COURTS OF ODESSA

To expand civil society’s participation in all processes of state bodies and to ensure transparency and accountability, the Regional Office in Odesa of the European Union Advisory Mission in Ukraine organized a roundtable on public councils attached to the courts of Odesa.

Partners at BARRISTERS Law Firm, Denys Ponomarenko and Yuriy Zhovtan, together with representatives of the courts of Odesa and Odesa Oblast, the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine, the Regional Center for the Provision of Free Secondary Legal Aid, bar associations and legal professional associations, and representatives of civil society, took part in the roundtable of the dialogue platform on public councils attached to the courts of Odesa.

In accordance with the draft agenda, presentations were given on EU and Ukrainian practices regarding judges’ engagement with civil society, as well as on the current state of affairs and the vision for the work of public councils attached to courts. An open discussion was held on the challenges and prospects for civil society’s work within the framework of public councils attached to courts.
