The Pechersky District Court of Kyiv partially granted the defense’s motion and reduced Dmytro Ryumshin’s bail from 22 million hryvnias to 15 million hryvnias. At the same time, the serviceman remains in custody at the pretrial detention center. Ukrainian MP Lyudmyla Buimister requested that the colonel be released on his own recognizance, but the court denied the request.

Defense attorney Andriy Yosypov, a partner at Barristers Law Firm, notes:

• “The bail amount is still excessive for the colonel and his family, even after being reduced by nearly 7 million hryvnias.”
  
• “The next step will be an appeal to the Kyiv Court of Appeals. We will gradually seek to have it reduced in part.”
  
• “We expect, perhaps as early as next week, another motion from the prosecution to extend the pretrial measure.”
  

The defense emphasizes that the court’s decision to partially reduce the bail is a small but important step toward justice.
