As previously reported on our law firm’s social media pages, with the assistance of legal counsel from Barristers, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine has recognized the participation of the fallen soldiers Maksym Mykhailov, Yuriy Horovets, and Bohdan Lyagov in combat operations to defend Ukraine. This marked an important step toward state recognition of their heroic deeds and their families’ right to social benefits.

Today we would like to share some important news—the family members of these heroes have received the payments from the state provided for by law. We will continue our work to ensure that the families of the fallen defenders are fully provided with all social benefits.

As a reminder, the team at Barristers Law Firm provides legal assistance to the families of the fallen reconnaissance soldiers who were the first to engage the occupier on Russian territory.

Attorneys from the “Barristers” Law Firm are providing legal assistance to the family members of the soldiers from the “Brotherhood” unit as part of the “Timur Special Forces Unit” of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in obtaining all payments and social benefits provided for by law.

This process is being handled by the Barristers team: partners Yuriy Radzievsky and Andriy Yosipov, attorneys Vadym Kolokolnikov and Dmytro Zelenyuk, and legal assistant Dmytro Hrytsko.

Legal assistance is provided on a pro bono basis.

As a reminder, on December 25, 2022, a sabotage group led by Maksym “Nepiypiva” Mikhailov, Yuriy “Svyatosha” Horovets, Taras “Tarasia” Karpyuk, and Bohdan “Apollo” Lyagov carried out a deep-penetration raid with a secret mission in enemy-controlled territory.

Upon encountering Russian troops, the four reconnaissance soldiers refused to surrender and fought their final battle.
