Oleksiy Shevchuk - a partner at Barristers Law Firm, will speak at Legal High School on April 20, 2018, on the topic “Criminal Prosecution for Corporate Fraud (Articles 190 and 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).”
The presentation will address the legal nature of fraud and embezzlement, the distinguishing features that set these crimes apart from other corruption-related crimes, economic crimes, and crimes against property, errors made by pretrial investigation authorities in classifying crimes, and the latest case law from the higher courts.
In addition, the speaker will provide practical examples from his own experience and offer practical advice on defending clients who are being prosecuted for corporate fraud.
Oleksiy Shevchuk will also discuss the forensic procedure — a system of measures aimed at preventing fraudulent activities within a company, detecting and effectively investigating such cases, as well as the practice of company executives drafting reports on administrative offenses against employees for committing petty theft.
