On May 20, 2026, an investigating judge of the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv denied a motion filed by a detective from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to remove the director of one of the municipal enterprises of the Sieversk Donetsk territorial community in Luhansk Oblast from office.
According to the investigation, the participants in the scheme submitted forged requests from military units to the Siverskodonetsk Municipal Administration regarding the procurement of electronic warfare equipment. Based on these requests, funds were allocated to the municipal enterprise, which, in turn, purchased military equipment, allegedly causing financial damage to the local budget in the amount of 5.6 million hryvnias.
During the court proceedings on the aforementioned motion, the prosecution failed to prove the existence of risks or other necessary grounds for granting it. In addition, the court had previously denied a motion by a detective from the Security Service of Ukraine to impose pretrial detention as a preventive measure against the aforementioned individual.
