Today, August 11, 2025, a hearing was held at the Solomyanskyi District Court of Kyiv regarding the prosecutor’s motion to impose a preventive measure in the form of bail on our client—Lyudmyla Kovalevska, a member of the Kyiv City Council.
The defense team was represented by attorneys from Barristers Law Firm—Vitaliy Chayun and Dmytro Korniichuk.
The court, having taken into account the defense’s arguments, denied the prosecutor’s motion and imposed the least restrictive pretrial measure—a personal commitment with the sole obligation to appear when summoned by the investigator, prosecutor, or court.
This decision confirms that there are no grounds for restricting our client’s freedom. The team’s next task is to prove that the investigation’s suspicions are completely unfounded.
“As the defense, we insisted that Lyudmila Oleksandrivna was not involved in any offenses. The court accepted our arguments and imposed the least restrictive preventive measure. We are satisfied and will not appeal this ruling. The pretrial investigation will last two months. Based on its results, a decision will be made either to dismiss the criminal case or to refer the indictment to court,” noted Vitaliy Chayun.
Barristers continues to defend the client’s rights in court.
