The National Bar Association of Ukraine has established a Committee on Standards of the Legal Profession. We are pleased to announce that, by order No. 102 of the UNAA Chairman dated March 31, 2026, Andriy Yosypov, a partner at Barristers Law Firm, has been appointed chair of this body.

The Committee’s work will focus on establishing clear guidelines for the practice of law and adapting the profession to contemporary challenges.

Key areas of activity:

- Developing a list of job responsibilities for attorneys and their assistants, which will clearly delineate roles and improve work efficiency.

- Creating security protocols for working with the “Electronic Court,” electronic digital signatures (EDS), and other digital tools in the context of modern cyber threats.

- Transitioning from a formal system of accumulating credits to a training system based on improving real-world competencies.

- Implementation of European quality standards for legal aid (in particular, the CCBE recommendations) into the daily practice of Ukrainian attorneys.

The Committee’s work should serve as the foundation for updating educational programs and strengthening the protection of attorneys against interference in their professional activities. Establishing such standards is an important step toward harmonizing the domestic legal system with the requirements of the European Union.
