On May 10, 2019, Ilya Novikov, a partner at Barristers, LLC, attorney Ilya Novikov, participated in a hearing of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea regarding Ukraine’s request for provisional measures in its case alleging the Russian Federation’s violation of international maritime law during the seizure and detention of three Ukrainian Navy vessels and their crews.

A public preliminary analysis of the parties’ positions in this case and a thorough review of the statements made by the Ukrainian delegation were conducted by Professor Boris Babin, a research advisor at Barristers LLP.
