On May 11, 2023, the “Barristers” Law Firm and the “Ukrainian-Belarusian Hub” announced the start of their collaboration on legal matters during a press conference at “Ukrinform.”
The Ukrainian-Belarusian Hub was established by civil society organizations and activists, including the NGO “Sustrech. Will for Justice” and the NGO “Agency for the Development of Democracy and Information Freedoms.” In addition, the press conference was attended by Iryna Lukashenko (Belarusian activist), Alona Zharkevich (Belarusian activist), and Tetiana Martynova (political blogger, founder of the “Stop Being Afraid!” movement).
Maria Mikhailenko spoke at the press conference on behalf of the law firm “Barristers.”
The hub’s mission will be to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, assist Belarusian volunteers serving in the Ukrainian Defense Forces, provide legal assistance to Belarusians in Ukraine, and facilitate the self-identification of Belarusian children and their integration into Ukrainian society.
Barristers LLP will provide legal support for the hub’s activities and for Belarusian citizens who turn to it for assistance. In addition, the attorneys at Barristers, JSC are ready to provide legal services to companies conducting business within the European Union and the United Kingdom.
The “Ukrainian-Belarusian Hub” will be located at 30 Yerevanska Street, Kyiv.
