The Supreme Court granted the appeal filed by a lawyer from Barristers Law Firm and overturned the conviction
By a ruling of the Supreme Court dated February 26, 2026, the cassation appeal filed by Barristers attorney Mykhailo Yakovchuk was granted, and the conviction handed down by the Odesa Court of Appeals—which had sentenced the individual under Part Article 191(5) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine to seven years of imprisonment, with disqualification from holding public office and confiscation of one-fourth of his property.

As a result of the cassation review, the guilty verdict was overturned, and the case was remanded for a new appellate hearing.
