On May 17–18, the @XV @All-Ukrainian School of Criminal Law and Procedure will be held in Kyiv, organized by the Kharkiv branch of the APU Student League.

As part of the event, Andriy Yosypov, a partner at the Barristers Law Firm, will moderate the session titled “Legal Entities as Subjects of Criminal Liability: Ukraine’s Path to European Standards.”

The discussion will address the most pressing issues:
Are current mechanisms sufficient to effectively hold legal entities accountable?
 Which international practices (France, Germany, the U.S., the European Court of Human Rights, the Court of Justice of the European Union) should be integrated into the national model?
 How does the implementation of the OECD Convention and FATF standards affect the liability of legal entities?
Is criminal liability for businesses becoming a tool for exerting pressure?
Which sanctions are truly effective—fines, restrictions, or liquidation?

Session participants, together with the moderator, will discuss the prospects, risks, and law enforcement practices related to the new challenges of corporate liability in the context of criminal law.
