Danilo Kolesnik’s attorney has filed a complaint alleging bodily harm against the soccer player, death threats against him and his family, as well as an appeal regarding his house arrest.

In addition, an urgent appeal has just been prepared requesting that the Kyiv

Regional Police ensure the safety of the soccer player and his family.

Direct quote from his defense attorney:

“I, the attorney for Danylo Kolesnik, officially report that after my client filed a complaint regarding bodily harm inflicted upon him, as well as after publicly announcing this fact, Danylo Kolesnyk began receiving direct threats to his life and health.

These threats indicate a real danger and are accompanied by actions that may indicate persecution of my client, as well as pose a threat to the safety of his family members. Given the nature, content, and circumstances of the threats received, my client perceived them as real and capable of being carried out.

As of now, Danylo Kolesnik has filed a corresponding report with law enforcement authorities regarding a criminal offense under Ukrainian law, specifically threats to life and health, in addition to a previously filed report concerning bodily harm inflicted upon him.

Law enforcement agencies are currently identifying the individuals involved in these threats.

In light of the foregoing, guided by the Constitution of Ukraine, the Law of Ukraine “On the National Police,” and with the aim of preventing a threat to the life and health of a citizen of Ukraine, I ask you to:

1. Take this situation under your personal supervision;

2. Ensure that urgent security measures are taken to protect Danylo Kolesnyk and his family members;

3. Issue appropriate instructions to the units of the National Police of Ukraine to respond promptly to the facts described and ensure an effective investigation;

I ask that you refrain from making unverified comments.”
