Registration is now open for the annual “Advocates’ Tour 2020” chess tournament, dedicated to Ukrainian Lawyers’ Day

SIXTH ANNUAL OPEN RAPID CHESS TOURNAMENT “LAWYERS’ TOUR 2020”

ON THE OCCASION OF LAWYERS’ DAY

On December 19, 2020, the Sixth Annual Open Chess Tournament “Lawyers’ Tour 2020,” dedicated to Ukrainian Lawyers’ Day, will take place. The tournament is held under the patronage of the Odesa Regional Bar Council, the “Barristers” Law Firm, the Odesa Branch of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization “Ukrainian Bar Association,” and with the support of the Association of Chess and Checkers Clubs of the Odesa Region.

The tournament’s organizing committee consists of the following attorneys: Vsevolod Petrovich Sokalyuk (chair), Denis Vasilyevich Ponomarenko (vice chair, partner at “Barristers” Law Firm, chair of the Odessa Branch of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization “Association of Ukrainian Lawyers”).

Tournament venue: Assembly Hall of the Odesa Regional Bar Association: 14 Zhukovskogo St., Odesa.

Registration begins at 10:00 a.m.

The tournament begins at 11:00 a.m.

Ends at 4:00 p.m.

Attention! This year’s tournament is open to the public! Judges are also expected to participate in the tournament.

Estimated number of participants: up to 20 people.

Games will be played using the Swiss system. Each participant will have 15 minutes per game.

International Grandmaster Mykhailo Golubev will officiate the tournament.

As is tradition, winners will receive valuable prizes and cash awards from the Odesa Regional Bar Association and the tournament’s sponsors—law firms. Coffee breaks and opportunities for participants, fans, and tournament guests to mingle are planned during the breaks between games.
